Giveaway Day

Welcome to the Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day! I’m glad to participate since the last one allowed me to discover so many new blogs and reminded me that I should be commenting more on blogs that I read regularly, not just when there’s something up for grabs. So I’m glad to meet a lot of new readers and bloggers today!

I have a relatively new friend from Sweden with a crafty business who showed up at Thanksgiving dinner with a whole big bag of fabric scraps for me to play with. Since these were so appropriate to the season, I was excited to start playing with them right away and made these three Swedish Santa Christmas ornaments. They are stuffed with wool stuffing and backed with sage green wool felt, and the string is made out of hemp cord. The two larger ones have frayed edges because the Santas were first appliqued to striped linen before they were attached to the felt.

Here you can see a little bit of the back. They’re hanging here out in my holly tree so that we can pretend I’ve done some decorating already! Good thing the berries turn red in time to decorate themselves.

So here’s the deal for the giveaway. I’m giving away all three to a commenter that I’ll draw randomly from all who enter. Entries will stay open through midnight EST, Dec 6. This giveaway is open to US residents only, to make it more likely for me to get it shipped in time. Since I’ve been working on pillows and table runners for my shop lately, I’d love if you told me what color your living room and dining room is decorated with, or at least what color your couch and dishes are. Hopefully there are some of you that stick around and subscribe to my feed, too, to see the rest of my crafty projects and feel free to read my About Me page if it’s your first time here! Good luck 🙂

  1. Lovely little santas! Our dining room and living room are not decorated specifically. We have a wooden table and wooden shelf in the dining room. So, does wood count? Our dishes are plain white.

  2. Our dining room is dark red and deep green (either during Christmas or during the year). Our living room is in shades of brown, maroon, and green.

These ornaments are so cute. Thanks for this great giveaway!

  3. My living room is burgandy, navy, and a touch of hunter green. My dining room is chocolate and black … at least my dishes are. I’m working on transforming my entire kitchen to black appliances, eggshell walls, and a chocolate trim.

  4. These are great ornaments! We just got married and have been redo-ing out apartment. Our dishes are light and medium blue, light and medium green, and brown accents (they have leaf patterns on them). They are all brand new to us. Our living room has a tan couch, an ikea poang chair covered with green and white fabric, and a brown rug with green accents.

  5. how cute are those ornaments! my living room is decorated in shades of chocolate brown, latte brown, and has splashes of turqouise. it’s claming and fun!

  6. melissa says:

my furniture is chocolate brown and my pillows are turquiose.

my dishes are mixed matched…old stuff…boring!

i wish i could be of more help. we live in military housing so paint on the walls is outta the question.

  7. I love the name of your blog!! 🙂

I WANT my kitchen to be yellow…but it’s a ghastly pink…and will probably stay that way because painting cabinets sounds like a nightmare. My dishes are yellow and blue.

My livingroom is all sorts of colors…rich jewel tones mostly.

  8. Thanks for the great giveaway!

My living room, dining room & kitchen are all really one room. My couches and dishes are both red. I have some yellow accents and chickens just in the kitchen area. I plan on having seasonal table linens and accent pillows that all coordinate with the red but I haven’t quite gotten that done yet.

  9. my living room is a hodge podge of colors since we’re still transitioning from the broke newlywed, accepting all free furniture period into the married and more stable period. Plus I hate our dishes, they’re are a poop brown color.

  10. Love the santa ornaments! My kitchen/dining room is a mix of deep red/browns/sage green and my living room is yellow/light green/light aqua with brown furniture. Not that anyone would actually notice the colors with all the clutter and toys strewn about. 🙂

  11. Amanda says:

What sweet Santas! Our house isn’t “together” enough to have a set color, but our couch is beige, and are dishes are green, light blue, yellow and brown.

  12. Sarah says:

These are super cute! I really need some good ornaments! Funny you should ask, my main room is Sage Green! Our couch is khaki.

  13. Cute!

Decorating? Well, I love all things Italian, so I’ve been trying to collect Italian plates to hang in my kitchen. You know, like they have in Italian and wannabe Italian restaurants. I can’t afford the real stuff, so I just get the cheap stuff from Ross (should I be admitting that here?).

  14. Karen says:

    What fabulous ornaments!

My living room is done in browns and turquoise and dining room (not all that far from the living room) is the same tans/browns and navy blue!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. Anne S. says:

We live in a rental, so our house is boring. I love looking at design sites and planning for when we own a home, though. Right now I’m really fond of gray and would love to have gray living room walls. Maybe with lime as an accent. The ornaments are adorable. Thanks for the chance to win!

  16. gosh those are so cute! I am not the person to ask about color. Our house has all different color – whatever is free fits in our home. Our couch is green dark green, ugly. And our dishes are misfits. – Some daisy ones, a couple vintage plates, and one from a set that didn’t break from our wedding. Thank you for the opportunity to win. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. -dez

  17. Emily says:

These are so cute!! Our living room is mostly greens, browns, and soft reds. I don’t have a particular decorating style – I suppose you’d all it simple and full of things I like!
    🙂
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  18. emilyflippinmaruna says:

My dining room is eggplant with a bright yellow ceiling and sage green trim. The couch in that room is also sage green and my dishes are sage green earthenware. thanks!

  19. Our dining room table and chairs and our hutch are all black. The soft stuff in the adjoining room is creamy white. And both are accented with a ferny green color.

  20. Melissa says:

Love the Santas! Your store is fun, too- I looked around for a bit.

My living room is not very decorated. Everything sort of tends toward brown and tan. I keep meaning to fix it, but then I think that if I wait till the kids are a little older, they won’t destroy it!

My kitchen is primarily red and white. Makes me happy!

    Thanks for a fun giveaway!

  21. Let’s see living room is centered around an oriental rug with cranberry, forest green and dashes of gold and lilac. Dining room is forest green and gold. Walls in both rooms are painted a light sort of goldy yellow. It works well. Cute giveaway, have my fingers crossed. First time visiting but I shall be back! Forgot, couch is a big floral of roses done in off whites and tans.

  22. I wish you had a follow me badge on the side of your page. You have great items.

My kitchen and living room are open to each other so my colors for both rooms are the same – school room red, deep black and soft worn flannel white. Sounds cozy doesn’t it?

  23. Morgan says:

Well, I’m in the process of living room decorating right now. It’s earthy colors, walls a textured 40s green (better than it sounds, came with the house) and furniture in the warm tan/browns. I need to inject something more with my next project – cushions for a newly built window seat (love my DH!) but haven’t picked a color yet.

  24. Michelle says:

What great ornaments- Love that they won’t break! Right now I have two deep red walls and two tan walls. The furniture is tan with the deep red curtains.

  25. Lovethe ornaments. My living room is grey with red accents and my kitchen is cream, But I change the tabel cloth with the season so it still has some color!

  26. Our living room is decorated in reds and greens.

  27. My house was designed by I’m guessing someone tripping on acid, so my living rooms are kind of wonky. One part is a dark emerald green, the other part is kind of a rough slate gray, and there is a dark cream color that spans through both. I would love to win, though!

  28. My kitchen and livingroom are painted in the same color scheme to make the rooms feel bigger (we also knocked down a wall, but that’s another story). The walls are a lovely sweet butter yellow, and the trim is a pale green. It’s very sunny, bright, and calming all at the same time.

  29. Deanne Johnson says:

    love the ornaments.

i am not afraid of color – my lr/dr is currently decorated in earthy tones – currently creamy gold and light/medium green with a spash of deep burnished red.

other rooms in the house are rust, deep green, deep marine blue, and sunflower yellow – my daughter’s bedroom is the most tame – toffee walls with black and currently blue accents (used to be fire engine red).

so any colors in your shop will work somewhere in my house.

  30. April says:

My roommate’s favorite color is purple and mine is orange. Luckily they make a lovely complement to each other so that’s what our apartment is decorated like.

  31. Ashley says:

I live in a one bedroom apartment so I don’t have the luxury of decorating a whole lot now as the living room, dining room, and kitchen kind of blend together 🙂 I do love poppies so my living room has accents of red and a cute water color painting of a poppy field my sister made.

I love the ornaments you made!

  32. Linda says:

    Sweet ornaments.

Well my living room is blue and beige with touches of spring green and coral. My dining room has beige walls with spring green plates decorating the wall. My dinner plates are plain white though. But just today I saw some lovely dishes at Target that might go on my Christmas list!

  33. Unity says:

    Those are cute santas.

I have a tan couch and a blue Persian style rug in my living room. Being in a rental house I can’t paint the walls so they are white.

  34. bambijo says:

    Love the Santas!

Right now, my whole house has orange, turquoise, yellow, and red in it. It sounds like a mish-mash, but I swear (I hope!) it looks good!

  35. Megan says:

We really don’t have a theme… our dishes are an Italian pattern called Deruta that have reds, yellows, and blues. I’m a colorful person!

  36. Alisa says:

How very cute! Our house is very…lets say eclectic. I love the color green so I have lots of that. I like your blog and your work and color choices are very pretty.

  37. myra says:

adorable ornaments, and a quick peek of your site will have me coming back for more.

we’re currently in the process of moving (closing the 18th!- craziness) so colors or decor not decided yet.

  38. Those ornaments are so cute! I love the fabric! Tahnks for the giveaway! and our house colors are beachy / earthtones. Although right now it is red and green! hehe

my giveaway is over at nadaletfamily.blogspot.com

  39. Carrie says:

These are adorable! My family room is being painted in a mossy green and taupe. I have tan colored sofas and am adding bright colored accents.

  40. oh, my husband would adore these!! We went to Sweden for our honeymoon in September. 🙂

Ok our house was decorated all by the previous owners, and we haven’t had time to change the rooms we don’t like- which are only the office and guest room. Our living room is a Dairy Queen vanilla cone with cherry dip- cherry red wall and white molding. It’s crazy, but fun. Our couch is bluish-grey, and our rug is forest green with a pink and cream big floral design. It’s all very odd. Our dining room is blue and grey (which I like) and our dishes are either a lighter shade of blue or cream- same exact dishes, just different colors- I like to mix and match my dishes.

  41. Living room is red and green

Thank you for this wonderful giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to win.

  42. These are adorable. My kitchen is very ugly. We bought this house about a year ago and have yet to paint the kitchen or really do anything with it. The dining room is connected to the living room and it is a pretty shade of green with off white trim. Our dishes are plain white a wedding gift from the inlaws over seven years ago. Wow has it really been that long. Huh.

  43. OUr living room is grey with a gold couch and our dining room is a fabulous color called Cafe Blue that looks blue sometimes and green sometimes and a little grey sometimes.

    Great giveaway

  44. wow, really love the style of these! great work! my house is sort of mexico-inspired. we have every color in deep and bright shades. our dishes are the same – fiestaware where each is a different color. 🙂

  45. Holly U says:

    Love those Santa faces!

Our living/dining room is in brown and black, with black curtains that have a beautiful leaf pattern on them. The look like they’re batiked…hard to describe but so beautiful!

  46. Eek those Santas are so cute!

My dishes are white and the couch is tan. I keep all of the stuff that hangs around all the time neutral so I can change the color scheme easier and cheaper!!

    Thanks for the giveaway
    Jaclyn

  47. Very cute! My living room is chocolate brown with cream and light blue. My dining room is a burnt redish orange color. With black furniture and White accents. 🙂

  48. StephanieS says:

I LOVE those Santas. My couches are ice blue. Depending on the light they sometimes look green. My dishes are clear glass. My glasses though I have two sets, the colors of the patterns on the glass are 1. yellow and orange and 2. black, pink, yellow, teal, and white. Maybe that will be of some use to you. Thank you so much for the chance to win such cute ornaments!

  49. my dishes are white, which goes with whatever wall color I choose to paint… right now it’s a light greyish blue – it was red a couple of months ago. The living room is a golden yellow with some generic olive green couches.

  50. Mama24Monkeys says:

What cute decorations. Love the Santa Elves. If you can get past all the toys and kid clutter, our dinning area & living space is sage green and our dishes our white.
